It was the election day today and it has been election talk all night.
I think it’s fair to say by now (not all votes have been counted as yet) that the Labor Party has won and Kevin Rudd will be the 26th Prime Minister.
Congratulations to him.
John Howard (the previous Prime Minister), just gave his speech a few moments ago conceding defeat. He accepted his loss graciously and honourably. Good man, him.
A few things I learnt tonight:
1. To have a great democratic country is to have a strong government and strong opposition.
2. You can learn a lot about a person’s true character by looking and listening to how he takes his defeat.
Once again, congratulations to Kevin Rudd and the Labor Party.
