Paper Trading FTSE 100 Day 1 – 10th April 2008

Here are the paper trading results for FTSE 100 on day 1. Refer to the original entry to read about my plan to trade the FTSE 100 Index.

The entry and exit levels were based on actual data from my online trading platform. The numbers in brackets are times of entry and exit.

Trade 1
Short sold at 5984 (18:06), exited at 5935 (19:35).
Profit: 49 points.

Trade 2
Bought at 5935 (19:35), exited at 5934 (20:45).
Loss: 1 point.

Trade 3
Short sold at 5932 (20:45), exited at 5933 (21:20).
Loss: 1 point.

Trade 4
Bought at 5935 (21:20), exited 5920 (21:55).
Loss: 15 points.

Trade 5
Short sold at 5920 (21:55), exited at 5912 (23:05).
Profit: 8 points.

Trade 6
Bought at 5912 (23:05), exited at 5899 (23:50).
Loss: 13 points.

Trade 7
Short sold at 5899 (23:50), exited at 5922 (00:25).
Loss: 23 points.

Trade 8
Bought at 5922 (00:25), exited at 5970 (02:10).
Profit: 48 points.

Trade 9
Short sold at 5970 (02:10), exited at 5966 (02:30).
Profit: 4 points.

SUMMARY

Profts = 109 points
Losses = 53 points

NET today (points) = 56 points

Cumulative Total = 56 points

Winners = 4
Losers = 5

Biggest Win = 49 points
Biggest Loss = 23 points

Winning Probability (W) = 0.444

Win/Loss Ratio (R) = 2.571

THOUGHTS

If you noticed, positions were maintained throughout the trading day. i.e. I had exposure to the market all day long. Yup, I was scalping for profits here and there. Stay tuned for results from Day 2!
