In addition to reptiles, there’s another thing that I’m not really fond of. They are… taxes…
I’m supposed to file my quarterly tax statement by tomorrow and I’m just starting to fill in the documentations now. It has got nothing to do with the “deferring payment strategy“, but rather, it is due to pure laziness… and my lack of liking towards taxes.. Hehe..
As much as I hate taxes, on the flip side, if one is obliged to pay taxes, then he or she needs to make money in the first place. So, in a way, tax is an indicator that the person has carried out a profitable venture. So, not all is bad eh? Next time when you have to pay taxes, smile! It means you have just made money!
On top of that, tax pays for all the public infrastructures out there as well, so yeah, tax is not too bad after all.
Smile, your tax is paying for your neigbour’s kidney dialysis treatment!

mmm…I have just done my work on personal tax last Friday and will have to issue a cheque to settle the balance by tomorrow. Smile? not sure about it. How I wish I could make tax-free income!
Of course, tax-free income is the best. I don’t mind staying in Dubai and earn my income, tax-free! 🙂
However, one must not forget the importance of tax to one’s country. It is the main source of income for the government to do things for the country (assuming the government is a good one and not swindle the money away).
By the way, if I’m not mistaken, Warren Buffett is a strong advocate of tax, especially inheritance tax.
I filed my tax and it showed i had paid excess . Is there a possibility of the government refunding me back as most of my friends told me that it most likely won’t happen, btw i like your postings..kip it up
Hi Colin. Well, you can always try to get a refund from the government. There’s no harm in trying right?
When we owe them, they chase us but when they owe us, they keep quiet. Hehehe.
hi there again, just to inform i got my tax refund back,
can’t believe it. hooray
Told ya. Hehe.
