Discussing Amanah Saham Bumiputera’s (ASB) Maximum Amount Above RM200,000. Whether you can withdraw your money and deposit back or not.

My original understanding was that, the maximum principal that can be deposited into my Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) account is RM200,000 and if the balance goes beyond and that and withdrawn, you can’t deposit the money back (up to the threshold of RM200,000).

However, it was recently discussed in my Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) post that this is not the case. If your ASB account balance is RM300,000 for example (after years of compounding) and RM50,000 is withdrawn, you can in fact, deposit that RM50,000 back in the future. In effect, your new maximum has been increased to RM300,000.

I went to Permodalan Nasional Berhad’s (PNB) office today and queried two of the officers about this matter. They have confirmed that if your balance is above RM200,000 and you withdraw some of that money, you may deposit it back into your account.

Hope this information helps.

  1. salam nad,

  2. W’salam karnine.

Saya pun sebenarnya tak berapa tahu sangat pasal OD ASB ni. InsyaAllah saya akan cari maklumat.

  5. Tuan/Puan

Thank you for making it possible for me to read about ASB.
However, I wish to point out some language common error here:
Discussing About is not really right, it should be Talking About or simply Discussing Amanah Saham …

    Have a pleasant day.

  6. hi nad,

Correct me if i am wrong.
I believe PNB will not reject any money but the dividend calculation is based on maximum of RM200k, no ?

If the dividend is calculated based on RM200K,then the excess is best to transfer to ASW or ASM account, correct ?

    Thanks !

Yes, this is correct “If your ASB account balance is RM300,000 for example (after years of compounding) and RM50,000 is withdrawn, you can in fact, deposit that RM50,000 back in the future”.

Your dividend will be calculated based on the Balance of your ASB. If your ASB is 300,000. Then 7/100 x 300,000 = (Fill in the Blank :-D)

I already experienced with this situation. Currently, I’m using OD-ASB to maximize my ASB by using Overdraft (OD) against or collateral ASB. At the moment, BLR (6.6%) – 1% (http://www.rhb.com.my/loans/asb-financing/af_main.html).

At moment, RHB Bank give a BEST offer compare to other Bank (CIMB & Maybank).

For those who interested, can email me how to maximize your ASB by using OD-ASB as platform. This technique also suggested by Certified Financial Planner.
