I’ve been blogging about financial freedom for nearly 2 years now. I’ve started my journey towards financial freedom for even longer than that. So, where do I stand now, financially speaking?
Trading
I’ve been trading stocks and CFDs for nearly 4 years. I’ve been able to stay profitable for all these years, and hopefully for a very long time.
I’ve reduced my trading stake due to the lack of certainty we’re having right now. I’ve already reinvested quite a significant proportion of my profits into a new business venture.
So far, for the past few months, my trading account has been advancing, but very very slowly. Snail pace.
Investment (General)
I’ve parked a huge sum of money in a number of Public Mutual unit trust funds. They’re not doing so well at the moment. I’m experiencing a drawdown of around 40%.
Talking about emergency reserves for those rainy days, I’m currently halfway in reaching my first target of 6 months worth of expected salary.
Property
I’ve also expanded in this area, but I won’t go into too much details. Not yet anyway.
Career
Not much has happened. I’m still finishing up my degree in Australia.
Business
I’ve had a few business ventures in the past, in which most has yielded me some profts as well as a whole lot of experience.
I am in the process of launching a few other ventures.
That’s all for now. For others out there fighting the same battle, God speed.

hi nad! i happened to stumble upon your blog when i was doing research regarding to unit trusts. i am impressed with the knowledge you have in investment at this age and its inspiring to see your semangat to reach your goal =)
i am a student, 21 years old. i am new and green in investment. currently, i’m interested in ASB, public mutual fund unit trusts and multi currency account(rhb bank, aussie dollar). i do not know where to start. can you tell me more about it and the pros and cons?
Hi Kate!
Welcome to my blog!
I can’t really get into any specifics when it comes to that. What I can say is, if you think that you’re still a beginner in the investment world, I’d suggest that you do a lot of reading and research on the topic. Don’t dive into any high risk investment without knowing what you’re getting into.
Anyway, when it comes to investing, a lot of people usually start off with ASB. It’s low risk and it provides pretty good returns.
Have a read at a few entries I’ve posted in the past. Hope it would be of some use to you. By all means, it’s not perfect (I’m still young and inexperienced after all), but I hope you’ll pick up a thing or two.

Hi Eric,
Good to hear from you. To have your own blog, there a number of ways actually. Most, to my knowledge, uses the Blogger platform (www.blogger.com). Those are the blogs that end with blogspot.com.
I’m currently using WordPress, which in my opinion, is much more superior than then Blogger platform. Also, if you notice, my blog address is nadlique.com. What that means is that I own my own domain name and I use external web hosting (which costs money).
It’s really up to you really on how you want to set up a blog. The easiest way as I see it is through the Blogger/Blogspot platform.
Hope to hear from you soon 😀
