Islamic Financial Planning

I’m interested to learn more about Syariah Finance and Islamic Financial Planning. Not so much of making a career out of it or even issuing fatwa or anything but rather for the sake of knowing as well as maybe doing it on a part-time basis.

Do you guys know where to start? Perhaps good books to read, courses to do, people to speak to, and etc.

  1. try this link, this ustaz is doing his PHD in UK:

    http://www.zaharuddin.net/

  2. You may want to read “Islamic Finance: Law, Economics and Practice”

    http://www.cambridge.org/9780521864145 for more info.

  3. Dear Nadlique, for Islamic Finance, you can just google http://www.meezanbank.com and get a whole bunch of articles written by the son of Mufti Taqi Usmani, one of the most prominent Islamic scholar. In Malaysia, various institutions are offering courses on Islamic Finance from Diploma to PhD level, e.g. INCEIF, IIUM, USIM, KUIS. But if you only interested in short-term courses, there is a certificate course offered by CIMA.

On Islamic Financial Planning, there is a talk on every first Tuesday of the month, from 9.00-10.00 a.m. at IKIM.fm. Or if you want to get a certificate, go to UMCCED. Or better, get a Certification from FPAM/IBFIM.

    Best of luck.
