About Me

October 21st, 2007

First things first. The name’s Nadlique, a 21-year-old student studying Accountancy. I was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and currently based in Australia in the process of pursuing my tertiary education. I adore delving into topics that make me think outside the norm to better myself. I love to question and critique people’s and my own integrity and decisions so as I and they could realise our weaknesses and aim to ameliorate ourselves. My goal is not to humiliate people but rather to change the society to the better and in return make the world a better place to live in. A lot could be learnt from those mistakes.

I am passionate of the idea of being financially free, thus the emergence of this blog. This blog will revolve around the topic of money, investing, equities, derivatives, and business, which are the essence of my journey towards financial freedom. However, my thoughts on other things such as life, philosophy, and politics will also be present. I will use this blog as a platform to record my thoughts for future references.

I don’t consider myself as an expert in investment and business, so don’t treat me like one. This blog is not meant to be a platform to teach or tell people what to do or what not to do but rather, as a platform for me to share my journey.

At the present moment, a big portion of my “wealth creation” activities are based in Australia, and a small portion in Malaysia. This is due to the obvious fact that most of the time, I am in Australia. In Australia, I partake in activities such as Share Trading, Share Investment, Derivatives Trading, and Business. In Malaysia however, I only invest in unit trusts for the time being. No doubt I still have a long way to go.

My other passions are Aviation, Military, and Golf. Would like to be a pilot one day. Always dreamed of being in the military. Still working on my golf swings. :)

So, come on board and share my journey, for the destination is indeed a pleasant place to be.

What is financial freedom?

My definition of Financial Freedom : Deriving passive income from your investments or business or both that exceed your total expenses.

As for me, I am working hard (well, I like to think I do work hard) to be financially free by 30 years old. I have adopted some high-risk strategies and some medium-risk strategies in my wealth-creating arsenal. Hopefully things will work out as planned.

  12. nadlique on May 20, 2008 6:31 pm

Welcome Sally! Actuarial science eh? Tough course that one. Where are you studying?

Yup Sally, there’s no reason why one can’t be a successful wealth advisor.

  13. sally on May 20, 2008 6:57 pm

  14. nadlique on May 20, 2008 7:01 pm

Hehe. Financial maths? If it was me, I highly doubt that I’ll be able to cope. The ironic thing is that even though I’m passionate about investment and other wealth-making related matters, my quantitative skills are pretty average. Haha.

See.Hehe.Math is my life.(terpaksa).huhu.We always playing with numbers.Thats why la.

  16. nadlique on May 26, 2008 11:10 pm

Oh, how I despise maths. Haha.

  17. sally on May 27, 2008 1:42 pm

No wonder…while im studying theory of interest and mathematical statistics, my lecturer said “accountant hates this messy calculation. They dislike mathematics”..huhuhu

Im glade to meet someone who have same mentality as me . But im not daring as you , yet .Im also 21 , i stared to think about wealth creation since in very young and start work towards it since 18 . I tried many ways , from mobile phone repairing business to insurance agent , and lately try to invest in share market , KLSE . But not daring enough . Almost buy a share , i retrieve last minute .
But i cant totally push my self towards my goal currently , because still in collage and not working . The money i invested all this time also come from my hurt keep saving and parents support. My friends go clubing , but i wont , i save , save and still saving , little bit by little bit . Im not a marketing person , but really eager to make fortunes .
This is good place to share my thoughts , wonderful blog for people like me , take care .

Salam nadlique .its me again.I’m proud that more young people are already thinking about investment, financial freedom etc. When i was your age, i never bother about all this but as life goes on… I’m going to be 40 next year, then only i realise that so many are already on their way to be financially free and as for my self it is suppose to be probably an early retirement.I hope to stop working and do things that i like by 2012..Insyaallah if my calculation is correct…
