Malaysia Airlines: MH 370 to Beijing, China

Being a staunch aviation enthusiast, I was shocked and saddened by the news of MH 370. To tell you the truth, I couldn’t even sleep well that night thinking about the fate of the passengers and crew.

Imagine, the Boeing 777, an aircraft with an amazing safety record vanished just like that.

What’s even more unbelievable was the fact that foreign medias were trying to potray us as a bunch of terrorists. Bengong apa dia orang ni!

May Allah save our nation from all the fitan!

Dah dah, jom solat Subuh berjemaah di Masjid.

A Mercedes-Benz as a Graduation Present

When I first started trading and going into small-time ventures here in Australia, I had set an objective. I told myself, when it’s time to return to Malaysia, I was going to bring back a Mercedes SLK 200 Kompressor with me. Hehehe 😛

What’s turning me off from applying for a PR in Australia?

What’s turning me off from applying for PR in Australia?

Just a few points:

1. It takes a long time to actually get an answer on whether or not you get your PR. During the waiting period, it’ll be very hard to get a permanent/full-time employment anywhere.

2. You need to work in your nominated industry for a certain period of time. God knows I’m not too keen in being in the accounting profession. I was actually contemplating jobs related to the finance industry (trading, financial planning, and etc.) before proceeding to flying.

3. Unless you get a good-paying job, things can be rather expensive over here.

How to become a financial planner in Malaysia?

I’ve always wondered what is it like to become a financial planner in Malaysia? How do you become one anyway?

Here in Australia, you need to hold the Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) or be an authorised representative of that licensee to be able to give out financial advice.

How about in Malaysia? What are the procedures? Do you need to get a green light from the Securities Commission?

Also, is the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification from the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) qualification imperative? How about wanting to become an Islamic Financial Planner?

Is there such thing as a part-time financial planner? Perhaps, on a freelance basis/work at home sort of thing?

For those in the know, please share your knowledge so the rest of us could benefit. Thanks guys!

I had a look at the website of Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor and there seems to be a heck lot of processes that a couple needs to go through. Why the red tape? Why make it so difficult?

For those who have gone through this or about to go through this, share your thoughts below. It’d be interesting to have a discussion about this matter.

Islamic Financial Planning

I’m interested to learn more about Syariah Finance and Islamic Financial Planning. Not so much of making a career out of it or even issuing fatwa or anything but rather for the sake of knowing as well as maybe doing it on a part-time basis.

Do you guys know where to start? Perhaps good books to read, courses to do, people to speak to, and etc.
