I’ve done many trades since I first began participating in the financial market a number of years ago. But I have to say that this particular trade was the most memorable one.
What company did I trade? It was Zinifex Ltd., a mining company that has since been taken over by another company.
The strategy I was using back then was the dividend-harvesting strategy. I bought into stocks that were in a trend and were about to pay out dividends very soon. As you all are aware of, on the ex-dividend date, the price of the stock will fall to correspond with the dividend payout. I held on to the stock, allowing the price to recover, and captured some of the uptrend movement as well.
An interesting thing to note, before I embarked on this trade, I told my girlfriend about this little plan of mine. She was sceptical. If successful, I could actually make quite a sum in just a short time but she said “Mana ada senang macam tu nak buat duit!”. Hehe π
Fast forward to a couple months later, the plan worked and the money was more than enough to fund the purchase of my Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition.
I was stoked! Just one little regret though. In hindsight, I should have saved that money rather than spending them on a phone.
