Is Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) all that bad?

There’s a post about Multi Level Marketing (MLM) that I wrote before. Generally, I’m not really into the whole MLM business (though this could change in the future), as you can see in that post. However I do see quite a lot of merits with MLM.

1. Ability to Network

In the MLM business, you get to meet a lot of people from different walks of life. By doing this, you’re establishing a vast network of business contacts that can be utilised in your future undertakings. Contrast this with stock trading (one of the activities that I’m doing right now) where the only person I talk to is my broker/remisier.

2. Salesmanship

This is another advantage of MLM. You get to learn about the art of salesmanship. If you’re already a good salesman, you’ll become an even better salesman by taking an active participation in your MLM business. Plus, as per my understanding, most MLM companies organise many courses for their members.

Indeed, salesmanship is very important in business and I have to admit, my salesmanship is really not that strong.

3. Learn about People

As I said in point number one, you get to meet a lot of people by being in the MLM industry. You will then be able to learn about people and learn how to deal with them. A definite advantage indeed.

4. Financial Freedom

If you do it right and under the right circumstances, there’s the prospect of becoming a millionaire as well as being financially free. Yes, I have seen folks getting rich through MLM.

In a nutshell, even though I am not really a proponent of Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) businesses, I do acknowledge that there are opportunities available in that industry.

  1. You can do it as long you don’t end up hurting your friends and family members.

Nowadays, it is very hard to distinguish a genuine MLM from a real scam. From my own experience, it is best to avoid it.

  2. On the other hand, if you are looking for education where you don’t get in school, attending MLM seminars will help a lot.

Just make sure that if you are going join a MLM, join because of education and not for the money.

You need to wear the Magneto cap to avoid being brainwash by the professor Xes there.

However, it is still best to avoid MLM.

    Just my two cents.

suggest u to read this if u want to know more bout it:

    • That’s why I’m staying away from MLM as well.

I’ve read a few books on MLM as well as a number of MLM blogs but I’m still not convinced.

Plus, it can be really annoying when somebody is nice to you and it turned out he/she only intended to sell some things to you.

  5. good job nadlique for writing all these in your blog. this is my first time visit here, n i found it great!

about the MLM, i certainly avoid it..i still believe, getting rich is not as easy as being someone’s downline n persuade others to be under you..

but at the same time, it’s killing me when i meet some people who already enjoys some privilage with their bussiness…huuuu

    • Sometimes, I feel that in some MLM companies, MLM starts to become a cult or something. I watched a few videos about the things they do in seminars, I was like, “Are you serious?” Hehehe.

  6. that is how they motivate themselves…hehe make new frens, new network..kdg2 klakar…

  7. LindaJFox says:

Yeah, at first they try to ask u to have a meal as they are ur old frens..then, they end up hurting u when the meeting is not as usual fren’s meeting to catch up stories, but to use u for their business…the worst part, I hate MLM becoz the top people will become richer due to the sacrifices of others (force them to take loan, etc)..esp. people like me who working wif goverment sector..need to give advise to our younger brothers n sisters bout it =/
